1) Parol-Making Materials
Parol-Making Materials for individuals, parade contingents, and workshop sites will ONLY be available for purchase on Fridays during the BCC Parol-Making workshops – please see table below for pricing.

includes: bamboo sticks, twist ties, rubber bands tissue paper and cellophane(colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white)

Be "GREEN" and Re- USE parol frames from previous years, and decorate with "GREEN" or RECYCLED materials.

2) Parol Lantern Parade – December 13, 2008
Assemble and line up for the parade at the Bayanihan Community Center by 3pm.
The parade will proceed toward Market Street and continue onto Market Street toward 4th Street. After 4th Street, the parade will turn onto Yerba Buena Lane and into the new JESSIE SQUARE,adjacent to St. Patrick's Church.

3) Tala Awards
ALL participating parade contingents are eligible to compete for the highly coveted Tala Award! GREEN is the main judging category. Your parol will be based on how well you incorporate GREEN and/or RECYCLED materials into your parol. Judging criteria: 1) level of greenness, 2) creativity/innovation, and 3) design/aesthetics.
Prizes: 1st Prize $500, 2nd Prize $100, 3rd Prize $75.
Please remember that you will be asked to arrive early on the day of the parade for judging.

4) Required Forms
All contingents participating in this year's festival & parade must complete TWO FORMS:
a) Contingent Registration Form due by October 15, 2008. Click HERE for Contingent Registration Form.
b) Production Information Form due November 24, 2008. Click HERE for the Production Info Form.
This form must be submitted by all organizations participating in the parade. It will be used to create a description of your contingent for the program at Jessie Square following the Parade. If unable to complete the forms online, they may also be submitted in person, by mail, or fax to the Bayanihan Community Center, 1010 Mission St. Ste B. San Francisco, CA 94103, Fax: 415-974-0349. Emailed forms will not be accepted.
