Parol Lantern Festival & Parade - FADF begins the festival in October with community parol or lantern-making workshops. The series of up to 40 workshps in 2004 provided an opportunity for FADF to engage all sectors of the community to participate in a collective community celebration and parade for the neighborhood. Both festivals provide an excellent opportunity for organizations and individuals to cultivate meaningful relationships, thereby strengthening community ties within the neighborhood. |
Filipino Entrepreneurship & Business Development - FADF's three-year partnership with Southeast Asian Community Center's Business Development Center has helped in getting a baseline understanding of the needs and challenges of neighborhood small businesses. FADF proposes to provide technical assistance, targeting small businesses in neighborhoods with concentration of Filipinos, such as the South of Market and Excelsior. Currently, FADF is in the research phase of designing small business development support services. |
